Library Director – Winnebago Public Library District Job Title: Library Director FT/PT: Full time Hours: 40 hours per week, variable Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience The Winnebago Public Library District participates in IMRF and offers paid time off accrued each pay period in addition to 9 paid holidays each year. Position Description: The Winnebago Public Library District seeks a servant-minded leader for the director position who has robust leadership abilities and exceptional vision to carry out our mission while working collaboratively with the board of trustees. The library is located at 210 North Elida Street in Winnebago, Illinois. Twelve staff members (2 FTE) serve over 3,000 area residents. Desirable applicant skills include effective board relations, the ability to excel at mentoring and supervising staff, establishing working relationships with community members, exercising fiscal responsibility in managing budget and library resources; ensuring compliance of library law; knowledge of technologies; excellence in time management, facilities management, strategic planning, grant writing and oral and written communication. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree plus three years of experience in a managerial or administrative role. A Master’s Degree—specifically an MLS or an MLIS from an ALA-accredited program—is preferred.
